Important Ward Changes for 2026

With Overstrand increasing from 14 to 15 wards, some residents will need to re-register before the Local Government Elections on 4 November 2026

The wards most affected by the changes are:

DE KELDERS

Voters living on the De Plaat/Stanford side of the R43 turn-off in Guthrie Street in De Kelders will now be part of Ward 1, together with Stanford and Thembalethu.

New voting station:
* Benguela House/Restaurant (corner of Guthrie and Eiland Streets) 

Voters living on Perlemoenbaai/Gansbaai side of the R43 turn-off, looking down Guthrie Street towards the sea, will remain part of Ward 14 with voting stations at Pretorius Hall, Blompark Community Hall and Gansbaai Golf Club.

NEW WARD 15
Parts of Kleinmond and Fisherhaven have been incorporated into the newly created Ward 15, including Mountain Avenues, Klein Berlyn, Arabella, Honingklip, Benguela Cove, Fisherhaven.

New voting stations:
* Ward 15 – Fisherhaven Academy
* Ward 15 – Honingklip Farm
* Ward 15 – Kleinmond Laerskool

NOTE: The Sea Avenues in Kleinmond remain part of Ward 9, together with Mountain View, Palmiet, Beverly Hills, Extension 6 and Proteadorp with voting station at Proteadorp Community Hall and Kleinmond Town Hall.

ONRUS ABOVE R43 (MOUNTAIN SIDE)
Chanteclaire, Berghof, Kidbrooke Place and Onrus Manor Retirement Village as well as all residents above the R43 all fall under Ward 4 now, together with Mount Pleasant, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley and a portion Westcliff (properties west of De Goede St ie Huis Lettie Theron).

New voting station:
* Ward 4 – Northcliff House College in Berghof Estate

VERMONT
Vermont remains part of Ward 13 but the voting station has changed to NG Kerk in Berg Street, Onrus.

PRINGLE BAY
Pringle Bay remains part of Ward 10, but residents now have their own voting station at Pringle Bay Community Hall and will no longer vote at Crassula Hall in Betty’s Bay.

REMEMBER: You may only vote in the ward where you live.

  • If you have recently moved to Overstrand, you must re-register
  • First-time voters; PLEASE register to vote.

Make use of the upcoming Registration Weekend: 20-21 June 2026. Voting stations will open from 08:00 to 17:00.
